Technical Writer Full-Time/Freelance

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical communication, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to transform complex information into clear and concise documentation. As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in creating user manuals, technical guides, API documentation, and other materials to support our products and services. This position requires excellent writing skills, a solid understanding of technology, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure accuracy of content.
  • Translate technical concepts into easy-to-understand documentation for a variety of audiences, including end users, developers, and stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain user manuals, installation guides, release notes, and other technical documentation.
  • Manage documentation projects from inception to completion, including planning, drafting, editing, and publishing.
  • Conduct thorough research to stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and review documentation.
  • Implement feedback from stakeholders to improve the clarity, consistency, and usability of documentation.
  • Utilize content management systems and version control systems to organize and track documentation.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute ideas to enhance product documentation and user experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the software development or IT industry.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and etc.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., Google Sites) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies as needed.
  • Have deep understanding of SDLC, Application development and testing
  • Familiar to follow work flow of a system from start to end
  • Willing to Work From Office (Not Hybrid)
